Minijet boat build thread. after seeing this: you tube: in bigbroncos thread i figured i needed one. we have a ton of local rivers that are non navigable do to rocks and rapids. this will be a 10' long 5' wide boat. jet boat build is on my "bucket" list . that boat is awesome but way to big for where i want to go. the rivers i want to shoot. The spoon idea is the best way to solve a lot of the issues that come up with a flat bottom boat. jet ski's are mostly v hulls in nature and that allows the air and some debris to be pushed away for the pump inlet, that's not going to happen on a flat bottom surface so you have to improvise..
Don't get me wrong, i've loved these small jet boats ever since the nasa team built one on junkyard wars almost 20 years ago. just curious why build a mini boat when it seems like you could have a lot of fun running a jet ski up river too. also, i used to kayak a lot on technical rivers, and i highly suggest a helmet.. I started a build thread in the jet boat forum, however most people are interested in jet pump designs, and i didn't see a lot the scale modelers there. so this should bring everyone up to speed. i finally broke down and masked and painted the bow non-skid this week..
